I found a free stopwatch and timer app that seems to work with the split screen and displays down to 1/1000 of a second. It will do count up or countdown timing. I did try it with one of the Requires Time stages and when tapped on the Time input line the keypad coming up from the bottom shoved the timer up to where you could not see the numbers but it dropped back in place when the keypad was gone.
