Not sure what is being asked. Though it is a common knowledge that ARs are making holes in steel targets.

NFC is an IDPA coined division that match directors can use to allow people to use guns that don’t fit any division.
I’ll bet if you check with the match director of that match that it’s their little nickname or saying that they’ll let you shoot anything even an AR as long as there is no steel.
