During online match registration for a USPSA match a shooter can select major power factor even for minor-only divisions like Production, CO, and PCC. Unless the match director manually edits the shooter in the practiscore app the shooter is scored as major in the match. Have I missed something? Is there a way to automatically correct power factor for these divisions as they are imported from the website to the master tablet? Or maybe to prevent the shooter in these divisions from having any choice but minor during registration? Thanks!
Good question. I am interested in this as well. The good news is that the validation that is done when uploading to USPSA catches this and forces you to correct it.
Hear, hear!
Requesting PS enforce minor PF for divisions that don’t support major. Even something as simple as preselecting the Minor PF once competitor has selected division would likely go a long way towards preventing this problem.
If you’re scoring tablets are totally updated when you import registration where somebody has chosen the wrong power Factor say in production. When they are imported into the scoring tablet they are changed to minor. It will not allow a division like production to have major power factor at all.
This is not completely solved, but maybe functionally it is. I made a new match using import registration and found a shooter with (PCC/Maj/S) in the shooters list. When I clicked into the shooter it listed him as minor and wanted to save when I back out. Just reporting that it shows PCC/Maj in the shooters list until some other action is taken. Android, PS 1.7.35, non-cloned match. Updated - PS 2.0 seems to not do this check and actually has the shooter as PCC/Major.
@Warren_Harper as a rule of thumb, the external registration data is NOT being modified upon importing into the apps.
It is up to registration data provider to create correct data. The PraciScore match registration site produces the correct data for the apps.
You can edit imported data edited in the app and then match template configuration is being followed.
Just to clarify, this was an import from the Practiscore website to the Practiscore app via Practiscore pin number. All shooters registered via Practiscore website, and I verified that importing using tnjfwmwa pin number that there is a shooter listed as PCC/maj in the app. I was able to edit the shooter to correct the information though.
The pin# should work. We’ll check with the web site crew.
