Testing PS2 still using my older tablet for a master. When syncing if I refresh I can see all the tablets. On the new tablets after refresh I can see master Fire tablet 7th gen. But on the 7th gen there is no sync code in the bottom left corner with PS2. Also when trying to sync my IOS device with the 7th gen fire tablet my iOS does not see the 7th gen fire tablet at all. And with no sync code I cannot try and pull into IOS.
@Frank_Scalise when tablet doesn’t show sync code at the bottom it means the app was unable to start the sync service, i.e. make this tablet visible on the network.
Usually that happens when some other app or service is using the same port on a given device. It could also be PractiScore 1.x app or maybe some file sharing app.
I’d suggest to reboot the tablet and then start PS2 right after reboot and see if that helps. Otherwise review what apps you have on that tablet and maybe uninstall suspicious ones.
If that doesn’t help, go to the “Sync Devices” screen and press and hold the “Pull” button on the right side of “pull from device” entry field. It will show you a panel with network information. Use copy button on the panel and send that information here.
I was an early adopter of PS2. One week ago I got an error message “this app was built on an older version of Fire OS and will not work properly until updated”. I had automatic updates on so I did not know what the issue was. I encountered the same issue that day with PS1. On match day I could not sync all tablets with their timers.
Am I correct that on Fire devices PS2 had to be updated manually (even though auto update is “flipped”)?
Did the lack of updating cause the timer sync issue?
Thanks!
Susan
It is an Amazon issue. You can try to contact Amazon support about that.
Some users reported that issue went away after uninstalling and reinstalling app. But you will lose all app data in the process.
I was able to get around this by doing a force stop on the PS2 app and restarting. That route there was no loss of data. Might be a temporary fix, but it worked for some of our tablets.
